To The Shops (Better late than never!)

I've missed Anne's deadline (she's a teacher - she'll be very used to that !!) but here are photos of my trip to the local shops, taken pretty much at random, but I did want you to see how the town council is already thinking of Christmas!!

Oh, oh! Do you live in one of the houses like those in that street? They are my favourite kind of house, I'd love one, but they don't do them in Scotland.

I think it takes me back to my childhood in Charles Avenue. Remember 'Aunty Joyce?' She still makes fab cakes.

Looks nice and civilised round your way, good transport links close at hand. As for the Christmas decorations, do they actually come down after Christmas? Ours seem to stay up all year, just not lit. Saving money, I expect...

That's a very scary glowing speed sign you've found there!

Thank you Ruth (said in my best teacher voice). I've not marked... oops... judged the others yet, so I'll consider this one...

Louise - the first photo is our road - they are rather 'Charles Avenue'! They are inter-war houses. This part of London lies right on the edge - 5 minutes in the car and you're in green-belt land.
1939 - this area was brooks and vales, then came the railway and within half a decade it was a concrete jungle. Sad really as it would have been extremely picturesque before.

John - I guessed it was you! It was the pax et bonum that gave it away! I don't know of any other 'nonny mice' who go by the signature 'pax et bonum'!

Louise - the sweet smile is often hidden by a cross-mummy scowl these days, I'm afraid!! Looking forward to your photo albums coming out!

Anne - thank you miss!

Thanks for the comments! This was a great idea of Anne's I hope others may follow suit, despite having missed her deadline (!) - photos of your trip from home to the shops.

(I had intended to be a clever clogs and photograph the trip from my home to Harrods, by tube, but it didn't happen!!! - I mean it never does....!!!)

Yes, but would you have provided a free bucket?
